January 2024 Report - Welcome Midea Energy Solutions

February has a total of 23 homes booked and we have a few clean ups to finish off for the end of January too and we are expecting to beat last year's record and we have set a hefty goal of 300 installations.

January also saw the introduction of our new Sales Manager in Claudette Muller. Claudette has been hard at work from the get go and her enthusiasm has seen us secure two agricultural projects. 

Claudette will be spending the next few months on the West Coast as she will be spearheading our long planned expansion to make a permanent branch in that area. 

We currently have two crews in training at the moment, this was done to bring down our waiting period to two weeks. It's another step in the investment back into the business to improve and speed up our own installation schedule. 

OPERATIONS 

In Cape Town we have moved our entire operation which will be announced within the next week as our new venture is launched together with our partners.

We have a secure warehousing agreement which will now span 3 provinces: 

Western Cape - Airport Industria 

Gauteng - Pretoria 

KZN - Durban 

This move was facilitated because of the November attempted hijacking which came after two more incidents since June 2023.

This decision hopefully eliviates as much risk as possible which in the end keeps our staff safe. 

The move also is in line with the strategy of the new venture we discuss below. 

We welcome Midea Energy Solutions to the Sun Smart Solar stable. We are among the first to be approved as one of their resellers and installers.

 

Midea has made a massive move into the solar energy market with great quality products at genuinely decent pricing. 

Midea is a global company worth $60 Billion, this investment into the renewable energy sector has been significant and already having tested their product offering we are very confident their products will do very well. 

You will be hard pressed to find a deal in the R150,000 range that gets you 15kHw of battery storage. 

This will be our last new product launch for this side of 2024. 

5000 Unique entries in the space of 3 weeks! Channel growth on all social media platforms has doubled with one Tik Tok video just about to hit 200k in views. 

We wanted to continue building a community of regular people who will be future clients in the long run. We have started designing a series of educational videos which will begin to roll out this coming week in an effort to keep educating the public.

Sun Smart has taken the decision to form a very strategic partnership to provide our own solar financing.

Over the past year we have researched and interviewed hundreds of clients from other providers and there is just a deep need to build and launch something that is more efficient but most importantly ensures that the standards of installation are kept. 

This cannot be achieved by using 30 different installers that all have their own way of installing. The technical departments of these companies are pulling their proverbial hair out. 

We have partnered with a particular vehicle that will be used for this exclusively. We put the work in helping them during the course of the year so we thought let's just do it properly.

All in all besides a real slow January and challenging start to 2024, we are VERY exited for the new products that have launched.

Solar financing is VERY difficult as we genuinely want to help as many people get into solar as possible. Unfortunately we also need to adhere to the finance houses rules. 

Our initial launch will be limited to households with one spouse or person earning an income of R40,000 per month.

This is by no means a small target market but we do hope that as our negotiations continue with other banks and financial institutions that we can get to the mark of R25,000 per month where even our R75,000 - R90,000 systems could be deemed affordable. 

ALL THE ABOVE is impossible without our clients support and we want to thank everyone for their continued support.
